Appalachian Attitude on Monday, Dec. 10, 4:30 p.m. will feature Clyde Pack, whose latest book is Dear Hearts and Gentle People: Rural Americans at Their Very Best. The book collects more than 30 profiles Pack has written over the years about people in the region. His other books are collections of his columns, Poison Oak, which appear in a couple of regional newspapers and often offer a look at his youth in the coal camp of Muddy Branch in Johnson County, KY. A retired high school teacher, he is on the staff of the Paintsville Herald. Start: 8:00 pm
