DICKENSON COUNTY, VA
Clintwood, VA launches a Pick & Bow program!
Working in partnership with the Ralph Stanley Museum
and with funding from the VA Department of Housing and
Community Development, Pick & Bow launched new classes
in Clintwood, Virigina last spring. The classes include
banjo (clawhammer and bluegrass styles), guitar, fiddle,
mandolin and singing met weekly through the end of May.
We also partnered with Lonesome Pine Office on Youth
to hold a week long, intensive music camp for teens
at the Natural Tunnel State Park.
We are currently working with our partners in Dickenson
County to plan for the continuation of Pick & Bow
classes during the 2006-07 school year. Stay tuned for
more details to come soon!
