Appalshop began in 1969 as an experiment in community-based filmmaking. As we celebrate 40 years of producing and sharing media, Appalshop continues to acknowledge the ability of communities and individuals to tell their own stories.
This collection of film and music was built on the principal that the chance to work, live in health and peace, share our lives with those we love, and sustain what is beautiful should be integral to Appalshop's work.
